Kairo was not far from his vassal, and came to his side almost instantly. The bridge had already seen a flurry of muted voices as the data streamed to all stations and, rather instantly, tactics, battle-plans, and scripture began flowing.
“Report,” Kairo said as he came to the aide’s side.
Facing his monitor again, the aide began running down the information. He was no fool. These were long lived humans, enhanced with cybernetics, completely focused on war, but not marine material. “Preliminary sensor sweeps reports only one ship in orbit. It appears to be centered within a sizable debris field. There are no Imperial ships in orbit. It will take time for analysis, but it is not unlikely that the debris is what is left of the Imperial Navy’s garrison. I am directing the probe to begin photo reconnaissance of this area.”
